Iowa State's Joshua Jefferson Injured in NCAA Tournament First Round

Iowa State Cyclones forward Joshua Jefferson suffered a left ankle injury during Friday's NCAA Tournament game against Tennessee State. The Cyclones defeated the Tigers 108-74, but Jefferson's status for the remainder of the tournament is uncertain.

Iowa State's Joshua Jefferson sustained a left ankle injury early in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Tennessee State. Jefferson landed awkwardly after a layup attempt, and was then helped to the X-ray room. He watched the second half of the game in a walking boot. Iowa State defeated Tennessee State 108-74. Nate Heise scored 23 points for the Cyclones. Iowa State will face Kentucky in the second round. The Cyclones were already managing a groin injury to point guard Tamin Lipsey.
