Mucheke Stadium Set for Renovation to Meet ZIFA, CAF Standards

Masvingo City Council plans to renovate Mucheke Stadium to meet Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) and Confederation of African Football (CAF) standards. The renovations aim to bring Premier Soccer League (PSL) football back to the city.

The Masvingo City Council is planning to renovate Mucheke Stadium to meet the standards required by both ZIFA and CAF. Mucheke Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium that was previously the home ground for Masvingo United before the team was relegated from the PSL. Currently, the stadium serves as the home ground for Masvingo United and FC Wangu Mazodze, both of which are in Division One. According to Masvingo City Council public relations officer Ashleigh Jinjika, renovations are scheduled for this year, contingent on funding. Jinjika stated the stadium requires renovations to meet the standards for PSL matches.
