The Ole Miss Rebels defeated the Gonzaga Bulldogs 81-66 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday in Minneapolis. The fifth-seeded Rebels dominated the twelfth-seeded Zags in the paint and forced 21 turnovers. Ole Miss held West Coast Conference Player of the Year Lauren Whittaker to eight points, well below her season average. Gonzaga outscored Ole Miss 29-13 in the fourth quarter, going on a 22-2 run in the final minutes. Allie Turner led the Zags with 27 points, while Mead High School graduate Teryn Gardner added nine points.
