US. Military Strike on Suspected Drug Boat Kills Two

US. Southern Command announced on Friday that US. forces executed another "lethal kinetic strike" on a boat suspected of smuggling drugs in the eastern Pacific. Following the strike, the military said that it notified the US. Coast Guard to activate search and rescue. The coast guard stated that its ship recovered two bodies and one survivor, who were then transferred to the Costa Rican coast guard. The military did not provide evidence that the targeted vessel was carrying drugs. According to experts in international law, these strikes on suspected drug traffickers are illegal. Since early September, at least 159 individuals have died in US. military boat strikes, as the Trump administration targets alleged "narcoterrorists."
