Australia and Japan to Face Off in 2026 AFC Women's Final

Australia will play Japan in the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup final at Sydney's Stadium Australia. The international Tumakuru ITF Women's Tennis W35 Tournament will occur in May 2026.

The Australia-Japan match is the most consequential football match in Australia since the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup final. It is also the most significant fixture involving an Australian national team since 2015. Japan has reached the semi-finals of every Asian Cup since 1986, and has won two of the past three titles. Japan has not lost a match in the competition in 90 minutes since 2010, when they were defeated by Australia. The Tumakuru tournament marks the second international event in the city's history and the first ITF Women's tournament there in over two decades. According to a release, the event is part of the global ITF Women's circuit.
