Ex-Australian Tennis Pro Admits to Doping,违规行为 Details Emerge

Marinko Matosevic, a former Australian tennis player and coach, admitted to doping. The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) banned Matosevic for four years after an investigation into prohibited methods.

Marinko Matosevic, formerly ranked No. 39 in the world, admitted to using prohibited substances and methods. Matosevic stated that he felt as though he was practicing at "full power" while in Mexico, where he received a blood transfusion in 2018. He admitted to using clenbuterol, which the World Anti-Doping Agency prohibits as an anabolic agent. According to ITIA findings, Matosevic also helped another player blood dope and advised others on avoiding positive tests. Matosevic received a four-year ban from the ITIA, preventing him from competing, coaching, or attending tennis events. One week after the transfusion, the then 32-year-old competed in Indian Wells, which was the final tournament of his career.
