FIFA Reduces Philadelphia Hotel Bookings for 2026 World Cup

FIFA has cancelled approximately 2,000 hotel room bookings in Philadelphia ahead of the 2026 World Cup, months before the tournament is scheduled to occur in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Ed Grose, chief executive of the Greater Philadelphia Hotel Association, stated that the organization had initially reserved roughly 10,000 rooms for the event. Grose added that FIFA had a 120-day window to make cancellations. FIFA was not obligated to provide specific reasons for the cancellations.
