FIVB Provisionally Recognizes Volleyball Federation of India, Forms Steering Committee

The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has granted provisional recognition to the Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) for eight months. A steering committee will ensure coordination between the FIVB, IOA, and VFI interim leadership.

The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) provisionally recognized the Volleyball Federation of India (VFI). The recognition facilitates the release of government funding for Indian teams' international preparation, training, and participation. The FIVB also formed a steering committee to ensure institutional coordination between the FIVB, IOA, and the VFI interim leadership. The steering committee includes Rohit Rajpal, Raghuram lyer, Steve Tutton, Stephen Bock, and Hitesh Malhotra. In a letter, Tutton raised concerns about visa issues for athletes in the Bhubaneswar Beach Pro Tour competition. Tutton also alleged that the FIVB has not been paid over Rs three crore for Pro Tour events held in Goa and Chennai in 2023 and 2024.
