Idaho Vandals Lose to Houston in NCAA Tournament Round One

The Idaho Vandals' first NCAA tournament appearance since 1990 ended with a 78-47 loss to Houston. The Vandals captured the Big Sky Conference championship to reach the tournament.

The Vandals (21-15) faced Houston (29-6) in the Round of 64 at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City on Thursday. Idaho head coach Alex Pribble said that his players fought for 40 minutes and "emptied the tanks". The Vandals took an early lead, with guards Kolton Mitchell and Biko Johnson hitting three-pointers. According to Pribble, many teams would have backed away from a physical team like Houston.
