Kansas Staves Off Cal Baptist Rally, Advances to Face St. John's

Kansas (24-10) earned a narrow victory over Cal Baptist in San Diego. The Jayhawks will face St. John's on Sunday. St. John's, a fifth seed, defeated Northern Iowa 79-53. The upcoming game pits Bill Self of the Jayhawks against Rick Pitino of the Red Storm, in a contest between Hall of Fame coaches. Kansas has not advanced past the tournament's opening weekend since they won the national title in 2022. Cal Baptist (25-9) went on an 18-2 run late in the game.
