Kerry Hurlers Secure Promotion to Division 1B After Meath Victory

Kerry's hurlers earned promotion to Division 1B of the Allianz Hurling League after defeating Meath. The Kingdom will now face Laois in the Division 2 final.

Kerry welcomed Meath to St Loman's Park. Meath needed a win against Kerry and also required Mayo to defeat Westmeath. Kerry secured a six-point victory against Meath in a scrappy match. A straight red card was issued to Meath's Damien Healy for a foul on Kyle O'Connor, leaving Meath with 14 players for the final twenty-five minutes of the game. Meath captain Dara Shine received a black card after dragging down Colin Walsh, who was in a goal-scoring position. Ronan Walsh scored from the penalty spot.
