Randy Bennett in Discussions with Arizona State About Coaching Job
Randy Bennett, Saint Mary's coach, is in discussions with Arizona State University (ASU) for their men's basketball coaching position. ASU's job became available after Bobby Hurley was not offered a new contract on March 11.
Chris Karpman of Sun Devil Source reported that Randy Bennett is in serious discussions with ASU. Bennett, 63, is a Valley native. His father, Tom, coached at Mesa Community College for 19 seasons. Saint Mary's lost to Texas A&M in the Round of 64. The Gaels concluded the year with a 27-6 record, also claiming the West Coast Conference (WCC) regular-season title.
