Russian Oil Shipment Challenges US Embargo Amid Cuban Energy Crisis

A Russian oil tanker is en route to Cuba, challenging the U.S. embargo amid the island's energy crisis. The shipment is a test of President Trump's policies, as Cuba faces dwindling fuel supplies.

A Russian oil tanker is challenging President Trump's embargo on Cuba by transporting fuel to the island. According to the *Financial Times*, two Russian vessels loaded with oil and gas initially headed for Cuba. One tanker carrying approximately 100,000 metric tons of crude oil is still en route in defiance of U.S. restrictions. The delivery is expected in early April, marking the first shipment to Cuba since January. Mexico previously halted shipments due to concerns about repercussions from the Trump administration. Energy expert Jorge Piñón told the Associated Press that the Russian crude shipment would only supply a week's worth of usable fuel, with diesel likely prioritized for agriculture and transport.
