Sanju Samson Begins Training with Chennai Super Kings After Trade

Sanju Samson joined the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Thursday, March 19, following a trade from the Rajasthan Royals. Seen as a potential successor to MS Dhoni, Samson immediately began training at Chepauk for the IPL 2026 season.

Sanju Samson, the 31-year-old Indian wicketkeeper-batter, has officially joined the Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, or Chepauk Stadium, in Chennai. Following a trade from the Rajasthan Royals, Samson arrived in Chennai on Thursday and immediately joined his new CSK teammates for training. CSK posted a video on its YouTube channel showing the Kerala native introducing himself to teammates. He also interacted with veteran MS Dhoni and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad. Samson was not part of CSK's pre-season training camp in Himachal Pradesh because he was with family after the T20 World Cup. The Chennai Super Kings will be Samson's third IPL franchise after the Rajasthan Royals and the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals).
