VidaBay's NFC-powered E Ink fridge magnet displays phone photos

VidaBay has released a Polaroid-shaped fridge magnet that uses a colour E Ink screen to display photos uploaded wirelessly from a smartphone. The Classic Plus NFC E-Ink Fridge Magnet leverages near-field communication (NFC) to draw power from a phone, eliminating the need for a battery.

VidaBay's Classic Plus NFC E-Ink Fridge Magnet is available globally in white, red, and yellow through the company's online store for $35.99 (discounted to $29.99). E Ink displays are known for using power only when the screen's image changes. E Ink technology has expanded beyond e-readers and is now used in smartphones, digital photo frames, and electronic price tags. The fridge magnet uses the same low-power colour E Ink screens found in electronic price tags. Users transfer images wirelessly using VidaBay’s mobile app.
