VidaBay's NFC-powered E Ink fridge magnets display phone photos

VidaBay has released a Polaroid-like NFC E Ink fridge magnet that displays photos uploaded from a smartphone. The Classic Plus uses the same low-power colour E Ink screens found in electronic price tags.

VidaBay's Classic Plus NFC E-Ink Fridge Magnet resembles a Polaroid photo. The device displays photos from a phone without needing a battery. The magnet uses the same low-power colour E Ink screens found in electronic price tags. E Ink displays have expanded beyond e-readers to digital photo frames, smartphones, and grocery store price tags. One benefit of E Ink's e-paper display tech is that it only uses power when updating the screen. The displays do not include a battery, and use power from a smartphone's NFC chip when wirelessly transferring images via VidaBay’s mobile app.
