Dasun Shanaka Withdraws from PSL, Eyes IPL 2026 Opportunity
Dasun Shanaka has withdrawn from the Pakistan Super League (PSL), reportedly seeking opportunities in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Shanaka's move follows similar decisions by other international players, influenced by potentially higher salaries in the IPL.
Sri Lankan cricketer Dasun Shanaka has pulled out of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Reportedly, Shanaka is in discussion with IPL franchises seeking injury replacements, according to NewsWire. The Rajasthan Royals (RR) are reportedly considering Shanaka as a replacement for Sam Curran, who is out due to a groin injury. Shanaka, previously with Gujarat Titans (GT) in 2023, was not sold in the IPL 2026 mini-auction after registering for a base price of Rs 75 lakhs. The PCB decided last week to pursue legal action against Blessing Muzarabani for withdrawing from the league after signing with Islamabad United. Gudakesh Motie, of the West Indies, was drafted by Lahore Qalandars for PKR.
