Gauff Advances; Eala Reaches Miami Open Fourth Round Again

Coco Gauff overcame a first-set loss to defeat Alycia Parks at the Miami Open in Miami Gardens, Florida. Alex Eala attained the Open's fourth round for the second consecutive year.

Coco Gauff, seeded fourth, beat fellow American Alycia Parks 3-6, 6-0, 6-1 on Saturday and advanced to the Round of 16. Gauff has now won after dropping the first set for two straight days. She saved 14 of 16 break points, including all ten over the final two sets. According to Gauff, she adjusted her return and tried to be aggressive when possible. Alex Eala attained the fourth round at the Miami Open for the second straight year, after defeating Magda Linette 6-3, 7-6 (7-2). Eala's breakthrough at the WTA 1000 event in Florida occurred 12 months ago. Eala and Linette are now tied 2-2 in head-to-head play.
