Illinois Defeats Colorado; UConn Dominates Texas-San Antonio in NCAA Tournament

Cearah Parchment's 21 points helped seventh-seeded Illinois beat No. 10 seed Colorado 66-57 in the NCAA Tournament. UConn defeated Texas-San Antonio 90-52, continuing their winning streak to 51 games.

Illinois (22-11), considered the youngest team in the tournament, secured a first-round victory for the second consecutive season. They are set to face No. 2 seed Vanderbilt in the next round. Coach Shauna Green noted that the team's youth has become a source of energy and fuel this season. Green stated that playing tight games in the Big Ten has helped her young team mature quickly. Sophomore forward Berry Wallace said her younger teammates are learning how to contribute and lead. In Storrs, Connecticut, Sarah Strong scored 18 points as UConn routed Texas-San Antonio.
