Jimmy Morris, Nenagh Éire Óg Life President and Tipperary Hurling Grandfather, Dies
Jimmy Morris, the Life President of Nenagh Éire Óg GAA Club and grandfather of Tipperary hurler Jake Morris, has died at age 96. Morris, who passed away on March 20, 2026, was remembered for his immeasurable service to the club.
Jimmy Morris, from Sue Ryder House Nenagh, formerly of Drumnahane, Borrisokane, passed away at Nenagh Hospital, surrounded by family. Morris was the father of Councillor Séamie Morris. Nenagh Éire Óg released a statement acknowledging Morris's passing after a long and fulfilling life of service to the club. According to the club, his legacy will never be extinguished. Morris served as treasurer from 1986 to 1996, and as chairman for 1997 and 1998. He played a large role, alongside fellow officers, in the building of the complex and viewing stand at the main field.
