Johor's Istana Besar Celebrates Aidilfitri with Open House Hosted by King
King Ibrahim hosted an Aidilfitri open house at Istana Besar in Johor Bahru. Over 20,000 people attended the event, which featured food stalls and a chance to meet the royal family.
King Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, and Queen Raja Zarith Sofiah attended the Aidilfitri open house at Istana Besar in Johor Bahru on March 22. The Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, along with his wife, Che Puan Mahkota Khaleeda Bustamam, and their children also attended. Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, and his wife Datin Sharmin Fazlina Mohd Shukor, were present as well. The public began queuing outside the palace gates as early as 6 a.m. to attend the event. Many attendees told Bernama they were excited for the opportunity to meet the royal family. One civil servant, Zairi Karim, said he has attended the palace open house five times and intends to keep attending.
