Moncton Celebrates Olympic Medalist Courtney Sarault's Homecoming at Avenir Centre
Moncton celebrated the homecoming of Olympic medalist Courtney Sarault on Saturday at the Avenir Centre. Sarault was honoured by local and provincial leaders, along with hundreds of fans, for her achievements at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina.
Courtney Sarault, a member of the Canadian women’s speedskating team, was welcomed back to Moncton on Saturday. At the Avenir Centre, Depuy Mayor Paulette Theriault, New Brunswick Lt. Louise Imbeault, and Premier Susan Holt were present to officially welcome Sarault. Hundreds of fans braved the cold and wet snow to greet the athlete. Sarault received a bronze medal in the short track 3000-metre relay, a silver medal in the women’s 1,000 metre, a bronze in the women’s 500 metre, and a silver in the mixed team relay event at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina, Italy. Sarault wore all her medals and joked about their weight.
