Official's Suicide Sparks Corruption Allegations Against Punjab Minister, AAP
A Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson has accused a Punjab minister of involvement in an official's suicide. The official allegedly faced coercion related to awarding a tender.
Shehzad Poonawalla, a BJP national spokesperson, spoke to ANI on Sunday regarding an official's suicide at the Punjab Warehousing Corporation (PWC) in Amritsar. Poonawalla said that the District Manager of the warehousing corporation stated he was pressured to award a tender to a minister's relative. The BJP spokesperson alleges the official was subjected to torture and harassment and that a video statement exists. Poonawalla stated that despite the evidence, Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann are protecting the minister. Poonawalla claims that they are only cosmetically taking his resignation for a brief period. He said that a free and fair investigation, an FIR, and an arrest are not being permitted, and evidence is being destroyed.
