Pant to Bat Third for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL
Rishabh Pant, age 28, will bat at number three for the Lucknow Super Giants, beginning March 28. A successful season as a leader and top-order batter could secure his place in India's T20 plans.
Rishabh Pant will bat third for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) this season. The franchise shelled out a record Rs 27 crore for Pant's services at the 2025 mega auction. After India's World Cup triumph in 2024, Pant lost his place in the T20 side. He is currently an integral member of the Indian Test side and a back-up wicket-keeper to K L Rahul in ODIs. According to sources, Justin Langer and support staff agree with Pant's batting position. Nicholas Pooran will move down the order to accommodate Pant, with positions four, five, and six used as floating positions. LSG will face Delhi Capitals on April 1.
