Rishabh Pant to Bat at No. 3 for Lucknow
Rishabh Pant, Lucknow Super Giants captain, will bat at number three in the upcoming IPL season. The season could determine Pant's future with India's T20 plans.
Pant will move up in the batting order, as Nicholas Pooran will move down to number four. The Lucknow Super Giants shelled out a record Rs 27 crore for Pant's services at the 2025 mega auction. A successful season as captain and top-order batter could make Pant part of India's T20 plans. Pant is currently an integral member of the Indian Test side, also a back up wicket-keeper to K L Rahul in ODIs. After India's World Cup win in 2024, the 28-year-old Pant lost his place in the T20 side. The Lucknow Super Giants will face Delhi Capitals on April 1.
