Senators Beat Maple Leafs 5-2; Gilbert Injured After Hit

The Ottawa Senators defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-2 on Saturday night. Senators defenceman Dennis Gilbert left the game after a collision with Leafs defenceman Oliver Ekman-Larsson.

The Ottawa Senators dominated their game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, scoring the first three goals. The Senators' Jordan Spence had two assists, and Warren Foegele scored the game-winning goal. Dennis Gilbert was injured late in the third period when Ekman-Larsson slammed him into the boards as Gilbert attempted a play. Gilbert remained on the ice for a few moments before support staff helped him off the rink. Anthony Stolarz was scheduled to start in goal, but Joseph Woll played instead after Stolarz took a puck to the throat during warm-ups and was sent for precautionary imaging.
