Dennis Gilbert left the game after a late hit by Oliver Ekman-Larsson. The Ottawa Senators defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-2.

Dennis Gilbert sustained an injury late in the third period during the Battle of Ontario. Attempting to make a play, the Ottawa Senators defenceman was hit into the boards by the Toronto Maple Leafs' Oliver Ekman-Larsson. Gilbert remained on the ice for a period of time, and a trainer assisted him off the rink. The Senators' support staff also assisted the 29-year-old. Gilbert was involved in a November trade that brought him to Ottawa from the Philadelphia Flyers. He previously landed in Ottawa as part of the Dylan Cozens trade.
