The UK government is addressing the spread of false information related to the Iran war online. A surge of manipulated content, including simulated drone attacks and fabricated missile strikes, has appeared on social media.

Liz Kendall, Technology Secretary, stated she is deeply concerned about misinformation spreading online regarding the Iran war. According to Kendall, the government is examining further actions it can take, especially during crises, to ensure people receive correct information. MPs from all parties share this concern, Kendall added. Timothy Graham, a digital media expert at Queensland University of Technology, described the scale of online misinformation related to the Iran war as truly alarming.
