South Africa's Mpumalanga Province Seeks Private Investment for Resort Upgrade

The Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) is seeking a private operator to upgrade the Zithabiseni Holiday Resort and Conference Centre. The resort is located in the Mabusa Nature Reserve.

The MTPA has issued a tender for a private sector company to invest in and upgrade the Zithabiseni Holiday Resort and Conference Centre. The resort is situated within the 13,300-hectare Mabusa Nature Reserve, Mpumalanga Province, South Africa. The agency hopes to unlock the resort's tourism potential. The 102-hectare resort currently has 56 chalets and a guest capacity of 196. According to the MTPA, the upgrade costs for the remaining chalets, which would bring the guest capacity to over 1,000, are estimated at R101.
