Suchitra Parida Secures Gold, Aims for Asian Games Success

Suchitra Parida won gold in the Women's Javelin Throw F56 at the National Para Athletics Championship. Despite the win, Parida expressed disappointment and aims to win a medal at the Asian Games.

The 24th National Para Athletics Championship concluded Saturday at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. Host state Odisha achieved 17 medals, including five gold. Suchitra Parida spoke with ANI, expressing some disappointment despite her javelin gold. Parida noted her last throw measured 18.00, and she had hoped to set a new record. She attributed some difficulty to weight gain impacting her running speed. Trials for the Asian Games are scheduled for June or July.
