Three Killed, Several Injured in Feni Highway Pile-Up After Bus Crash
A pile-up on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Feni resulted in three fatalities and at least five injuries early today. The incident occurred after an initial collision between an ambulance and a bus led to an altercation and further chaos.
According to Asadul Islam, the officer-in-charge of Mohipal Highway Police Station, vehicles were moving slowly on the Chattogram-bound lane due to bridge repair work. At approximately 3:45 a.m., a Shyamoli Paribahan bus hit an ambulance from behind as it crossed a speed bump. An altercation ensued between the bus and ambulance drivers, causing congestion with other vehicles, including a motorcycle and additional buses. Subsequently, a speeding Doel Paribahan bus drove into the crowd, causing a chain-reaction accident that killed a motorcyclist, a bus supervisor, and a passenger. The deceased have been taken to the Feni Sadar Hospital morgue.
