Trinamool Congress Announces Second List of Candidates for Assam Election
The Trinamool Congress party has announced seven candidates in its second list for the Assam Assembly elections. Congress MLA Sherman Ali Ahmed, who had been suspended from Congress, is among the nominees.
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) declared its second list of candidates for the Assam Assembly elections on Sunday. The list names seven party candidates. The TMC also withdrew the nomination of state senior vice-president Dulu Ahmed. With the withdrawal from Chamaria constituency, the TMC has so far declared 17 nominees.

- Sherman Ali Ahmed, a Congress MLA who had been suspended for disciplinary reasons, had joined Raijor Dal earlier in March.
- Raijor Dal, now part of a six-party opposition alliance that includes Congress, did not give Ahmed a ticket.
