Chhattisgarh to Host First National Tribal Sports Event This March

Chhattisgarh is preparing to host a significant national sporting event, the inaugural national tribal games, from March 25 to April 3. This competition will draw approximately 3,600 athletes from various regions across the country. The event is scheduled to take place in Raipur, Jagdalpur, and Ambikapur, reflecting the state's focus on peace and advancement through athletic endeavours. According to Mansukh Mandaviya, the union minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, this event is part of a broader strategy to expand opportunities for young individuals interested in sports. By organizing this event, Chhattisgarh intends to establish a national forum for showcasing tribal athletic abilities. The competition will include seven primary sports, in addition to two exhibition events. This follows successful local sporting events, including the Bastar and Surguja Olympics, which saw increased participation.
