Three Hospitalized, Buildings Collapse After Rome Explosion

Three individuals were transported to Sant'Eugenio Hospital following a significant explosion that damaged multiple residential structures in Rome, Italy. The incident took place on Piana del Sole, a residential street, where three apartment blocks collapsed. Authorities believe the blast was initiated by the detonation of gas cylinders located in a property's back garden. Among those hospitalized were Michele De Bari, 84, and Chiara De Bari, 86, identified as the property owners, both of whom sustained 20% burns and are in critical condition. A 24-year-old man was also taken for medical evaluation after being extricated from the debris. The force of the explosion propelled wreckage as far as 660 feet, according to Corriere della Sera. Images from the scene depict severely damaged homes and nearby vehicles.
